Heterogeneous Thermoset/Thermoplastic Recycled Carbon Fiber Composite Materials for Second-Generation Composites

With an increase in the use of carbon fiber composites aerospace and automobile industry a collateral issue what to do with end-of-life has risen. In this study, we successfully developed second-generation composite using heterogenous mixture thermoset thermoplastic recycled (CFCs). The recovered vinyl ester epoxy CFCs (thermosets) were characterized thermogravimetric analysis. Adhesive performance was evaluated through double lap shear tests by melt-bonding polyether ether ketone (PEEK) CFC either or CFC. waste also mechanically milled classified screening techniques. resulting materials used form produce panels high temperature compression molding. influence particle size platen evalauted mechanical testing. Results indicate that ester/CFC exhibited significantly higher strength values than between epoxy/CFC PEEK. Findings show adding system enhanced flexural properties composites.
